More than 100 youth volunteers supported by Korean steel company POSCO were in southern Vietnam at Christmas to help Habitat for Humanity Vietnam build 10 houses. POSCO has been supporting such Habitat builds since 2007 and about 400 volunteers have worked on Habitat sites in Thailand, India and Indonesia. Earlier in December 2011, HFH Vietnam also hosted about 40 Australian volunteers who were in Long An province for HFH Australia’s Nine Dragons Build. Visit HFH Vietnam’s website and Facebook page for more stories and photos. Separately, HFH Vietnam has won recognition from the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) for its significant contribution to poverty reduction and development in the country. HFH Vietnam was among several non-government organizations honored as part of VUFO’s 61st anniversary celebrations.
