Welcome to Global Village!

Whether you are a group or an individual, young or old, Habitat for Humanity offers an exciting opportunity for you to be a part of the growing effort to eliminate poverty housing worldwide through Global Village short-term volunteer teams. Participants do not need prior construction experience to join a team but are expected to have the willing and eager heart of a servant learner. Also, leading Global Village team could be one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of your life. It may seem like an overwhelming responsibility and at times it will be. However, most team leaders find that the excitement, the sense of accomplishment and the joys are well worth the effort. If you are keen to lead a team and need some inspiration, we have slots open throughout Asia Pacific.

Click below to see what slots are available and then email us your preferences and ideas to be followed up.

What Do Teams Provide?

Teams provide an opportunity to travel and enhance the ongoing work of a local Habitat affiliate.

Global village program in korea we invite you to make a difference in korea!

The rapid economic development in the Republic of Korea over the past few years has left many behind in terms of housing and other basic necessities. Statistics from a Korean survey conducted by the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs(국토해양부) showed that 1.84 million families of all residences live in substandard housing or crowded condition(by 2010). Also, most of them cannot afford living expenses without the aid of others. Governmental assistance and public housing programs are unable to keep up with the demand for affordable shelter.

During your Global Village project you will build simple, decent houses in partnership with local Korean people. You will experience traditional Korean warmth and hospitality and will contribute to one family’s dream of home ownership. You will not only work on the building site, but also to enjoy the culture and scenery of the host country.
